The Midnight Espresso invites you to step into an intimate jazz lounge for a carefully curated evening of live music and craft mixology. Designed for those who appreciate artistry over crowds, this carefully curated evening invites you to get up close with exceptional musicians while enjoying expertly crafted cocktails in a refined lounge setting.
For this second edition, we welcome you to a historic palace overlooking Jardim do Torel, offering breathtaking views of Lisbon and its iconic city pool. The venue features a seated indoor lounge rich in character, along with an outdoor terrace where you can take in the garden, skyline and night air. This Friday night edition extends until 2 AM, you’ll have time to savor the music, the views and meaningful connections.
We are delighted to present a special ensemble of outstanding musicians, carefully selected for their artistry, chemistry and passion for jazz. Together, they create an intimate, soulful atmosphere that transforms every performance into a unique experience.

This ensemble grew out of Bruno Pernadas’ desire to expand his recent solo and duo performances into a trio format. That vision took shape at the Ciclo à Margem Festival, a multidisciplinary event in Marinha Grande, where Pernadas tested the trio configuration with great success, encouraged by the effortless communication and real-time musical exchange among the invited musicians. For this concert, the trio will be joined by Tomás Marques on alto saxophone. The programme features original compositions by Bruno Pernadas alongside contemporary folk and works by Bach, Monk and others, showcasing the breadth of his musical language as well as his jazz sensibility, technical mastery and artistic erudition.

Those who know The Midnight Espresso know that our café has always been a small, carefully held space. Cosy by nature, intimate by choice and something we’ve always wanted to preserve.
As our community has grown, so has the desire to share what we love with more people, without losing the atmosphere that defines us. Creating our jazz nights is our way of doing exactly that.
These evenings allow us to welcome a larger audience while keeping the experience focused and personal, and to open a space where live jazz can be heard as it should be - close, unhurried and full of presence. They also give us the chance to shine a light on exceptional artists based in Lisbon, whose work deserves to be listened to in the right setting. The music is carefully curated by a long time friend and artist who not only is a music 'nerd' but has also collaborated with several musicians, national and internationally, in her art film and installation projects - Tatiana Macedo.
Each jazz night is an intimate venue with slightly more room to gather, limited seating, craft cocktails, and the unmistakable energy of a jazz club. A moment to meet, linger and experience live music together - thoughtfully and without distraction.
